Biography

Most recently, Nancy was staffed on the ABC comedy Call Your Mother. Nancy co-wrote the comedy feature Taffeta with Heather McNama, a project they developed with Kyra Sedgwick and her company, Big Swing Productions.  Kyra is attached to direct. In 2017, they landed a spot in Outfest Film Festival’s prestigious Screenwriters Lab. On the TV side, the pair sold a foster-oriented project to The Disney Channel, wrote the half-hour comedy The F Word, the hour-long drama pilot Social Work, a spec of Elementary, and their Parks & Recreation sample landed in the top six scripts at Austin Film Festival.  Their play, Resolution, which received its world premiere in Chicago in 2016, was nominated for Chicago’s prestigious Jeff Award for Best New Play.  

They’ve written for the Legacy Awards for Elizabeth Banks, Norman Lear, Lena Waithe, Lily Tomlin, Dan Jinks, Laverne Cox, Rupert Everett, and the cast of One Day at a Time.

Nancy spent several years “treading the boards” as a professional actress in Seattle where she held roles in You Can’t Take It With You, The Odd Couple (Female Version), Damn Yankees, and Private Eyes.  She studied acting in New York and with the Moscow Arts Theatre School in their summer residence at American Repertory Theatre.

Nancy and Heather are proud foster/adoptive parents with three kids.
