D. Nikki Wheeler is an American Collaborative known for storytelling that challenges cultural norms, creates powerful female characters, and pushes audiences to reevaluate their perspectives on race, cultural appropriation, and ideology. With an unwavering commitment to authenticity, Nikki brings a unique perspective to her work based on her experience working with the United States Senate, the State Department, the Department of Defense, and as an international crisis and risk communications professional, including stints in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Dubai. Nikki’s work has been recognized by The Capital Fund, ISA, The Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards and ScreenCraft. She is in development with Infinity Fuel Pictures on “Sundown” a feature about two Black women on a cross-country road trip who must fight their way out of a sundown town to survive the night, SIDEWAY on an original streaming web series, “Fabulist,” and has optioned “The One,” a sexy thriller with Canadian-based Nasser Entertainment. Nikki also devotes time to F.L.O.W., Futures Leaders of the World, a youth education initiative created by Alex Moreno and David Frankel. F.L.O.W. uses short films, shot in multiple languages, to teach students about sensitive health topics. As part of F.L.O.W., Nikki directed her first short “Rumors” in 2022. She also has credits as a set designer and producer. Nikki earned a master's degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor's degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver. She has a passion for travel, a penchant for adventure and a never-ending sense of wonder. She lives in Colorado with, according to her niece, “A lotta pets.”
