A grad of the UBC with a BA in theatre and an honors grad of BCIT in Broadcast, Pamela has written a feature film and three TV pilots, which she is currently pitching, several shorts and thousands of “live” scripts for Knowledge Network Public Television. She recently co-wrote and produced the documentary film, “Beyond Human Power” for CBC Television (and recently licensed by Knowledge Network), along with two short documentary films, “Love in the Mix” and “The Blue Rose”, which she directed. The films are currently streaming on CBC GEM.
Together with her sister, Anna-Lisa Jones, who created the series, she wrote the pilot, “The Lucy Gray Agency”, which went on to place in the “Top 5” of the LA Screenwriting Contest, the “Top 25” of the Page International Screenwriting Competition, was a Screencraft Semi-finalist and made the “Red List” as one of the top half-hour TV Comedy Scripts for 2018, among other recognitions.
Pamela co-wrote the First Nation’s script, "Restoration", placing in the "Top Ten" at the Cannes Short Screenplay Competition and winning the Tribal Film Festival Short Script Contest in 2017. The short gained the attention of an Executive Producer while at Berlinale this year, and is currently being developed into the feature film, "Game Bone", set in the world of Indigenous stick gambling.
Pam wrote the script for the short, "A Fare", the directorial debut for ABC/Lifetime producer Lily Hui ("UnReal", "Mistresses"). It screened at several North American festivals, was on the “hot list” for Cleveland and was sold to the Gaia Network and The Shorts Network. Her latest short, “Scarlet” was a finalist in the Canada Independent Film Festival.
In addition to being a screenwriter, owner of StoryMaker Entertainment and co-owner of Wolf Spirit Films, Pamela is the owner and creative director of Soundswrite, voicing, casting and producing audio projects for international clients. As a volunteer, she is an active board member for BCIT Broadcast and served on the Board of Directors for Women in Film.
For script inspiration, Pamela rides motorcycles and writes with her sister, Anna-Lisa at a trailer in a Norwegian campground outside Vancouver, even though their Ancestry chart says they’re part Sámi with a dash of Middle Eastern gypsy.
