Rachel Greenhoe was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She attended Sarah Lawrence College, where she studied playwriting with Sterling Spencer, Cassandra Medley and Lucy Thurber. Her play, ‘Not Retarded’, won the David Lindsay-Abaire award for playwriting. After graduation she worked around NYC, writing and producing plays, and doctoring screenplays on a freelance basis. Two of her plays, ‘Not Retarded’ and ‘Tiger Trap’, have been produced in Off-Off Broadway showcases. Her play, ‘Monkey’, had its first reading at La Mama ETC. In addition to La Mama Rachel has worked with Mabou Mines, DTA, Fresh Fruit and Bass Films. She interned with Motion Picture Corporation of America and Nickelodeon, on the show “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn”.
Rachel is currently the Head of Creative Development at Legacy Pictures. Her short script, In The Woods, has won numerous awards and her short film, Baé Baé, won best acting duo and was honorable mention for best Best Foreign Language Short at the Barcelona International Film Festival. She has worked as a script doctor with Jason Mann, Mark Wiley, and Josh Webber to name a few. Her pilot Logical is in development with Cathy Konrad.
