In a writing and show business career spanning three decades, Rollin Jewett (Jarrett) has been a theatre and film actor, award-winning singer-songwriter, author, produced screenwriter and published playwright.
Mr. Jewett was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and was raised in Miami, Florida. After attending Florida State University, where he was a Theatre major, Mr. Jewett returned to Miami and began his professional acting and screenwriting career under the stage name Rollin Jarrett. In 1993, he made the move to Los Angeles and quickly sold his first script, “Laws of Deception”, which starred C. Thomas Howell and James Russo. His next script was the cult horror/comedy “American Vampire” which starred Adam West, Sidney Lassick and Carmen Electra.
Most recently, Rollin's teen horror/comedy script "Demons 4 Dummies" was a Quarter-finalist in the 2021 Creative Screenwriting Unique Voices Screenplay Contest. His script "Merdermaid" was a Quarter-finalist in the 2020 Emerging Screenwriter's Genre Competition. In 2019, "Demons for Dummies" was a Semi-finalist in the Creative Screenwriting Unique Voices Screenplay Competition and a Semi-finalist in the 2019 Emerging Screenwriters Screenplay Competition. It was also a Quarter-finalist in the 2017 Final Draft 'Big Break' Screenplay Contest.
As a playwright, Mr. Jewett’s many plays have been produced Off-Broadway and internationally and have won several top awards. Some of his plays are published by Lazy Bee Scripts. Mr. Jewett currently lives in Morrisville, NC with his wife and son, where he continues to write and re-write and re-write and rewrite....
