STATEMENT OF STEPHEN JOSEPH OLSON Since I began writing earnestly I have written over one-hundred and seventy scripts. Most of these are shorts and a few are full length. From 2018 to 2021 I was a writer in residence for the Actor Workout Studio in North Hollywood.Through my residence several of my short plays were produced as live stage performances. One of my plays won the Director’s choice in 2019. This play was “The Booth'' and was performed virtually for the Durango Art Center’s Short Play Festival in Durango Colorado. Another play, “The Breakup King”, won best screenplay, best director, and best female actress in the Amazing Theatre’s short play festival in 2020. I continue to work closely with the directors of Amazing Theatre and will have two one-act plays performed in their 2023 season. The Legacy Theatre in Stoney Creek, Connecticut held their first short play festival reading in 2022. “The Booth” won best short drama. I recently completed a full length Sci-Fi feature for an independent production company in Los Angeles. I have agreed to make myself available for any revisions needed while the project is in production. As long as there are opportunities to write and I can continue to create new content, I will continue to write.
