Suzanne has been chosen as a 2022 Women in Film Writers Circle Mentee, one of only 16 women screenwriters to receive that honor this year. A 2020 PAGE Awards/Stowe Story Labs Fellow for her drama pilot The Sensualist, Brooklyn-based screenwriter Suzanne Griffin creates fierce, witty protagonists who risk everything to reinvent their sense purpose and the world around them. Her award-winning screenplays and pilots set in lushly-detailed worlds explore timely issues of female self-determination, bigotry, identity and the nature of love from fresh and unexpected perspectives. Advocating for her learning disabled and now college-enrolled son has fueled Suzanne's passion for characters who fight to make their voices heard and fully explore the power of their agency.
Suzanne’s a 2021 Sundance Episodic Lab Second Rounder for her drama pilot The Age of Desire, a 2020 Black List x Women In Film Feature Residency Short-Lister, a 2021 Coverfly Virtual Live Read Winner, a 2-time Nicholl Semifinalist, an Independent Feature Project Beigel Screenplay Award Winner, and an Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition Top 5 Finalist. Her pilot Blood and Dreams is the #1 All-time One-hour Adventure Pilot on Coverfly’s The Red List. Her romantic drama feature The Italian Lover has recently received three 8’s on The Black List. Her scripts have been Finalists in the BlueCat, Athena Lab, Filmmatic, ScreenCraft and Scriptapalooza competitions, and have been produced as staged readings by NYWIFT. Suzanne received her MFA from NYU Graduate Film and TV, where she won prizes in producing and directing.
