Tawnie Powell is a Los Angeles based screenwriter, actress, and graduate of the University of Southern California. Her writing centers around emotionally gripping stories that tackle trauma, identity, and girlhood through a bold, character-driven lens. She recently placed as a Top Ten Finalist at the Cinequest Screenwriting Competition for her first-ever script, Don't Believe the Drunk Girl, a short psychological drama. Tawnie strives to champion complex female leads and elevate underrepresented narratives—whether on the page or on screen.  She’s currently seeking opportunities in film and TV, including writer’s assistant roles, creative development, or production coordination!
