After attending Brooks Institute film school, Tina Love has been a freelance digital media creator in Santa Barbara. Her first paid gig after film school was adapting fantasy books into short scripts for a local acting school to use as material to shoot. Tina loves research and enjoys writing in the, "based on true events" and historical space, because truth indeed can be stranger than fiction. Tina wrote/directed THE ROMANCE & REAPING OF RIVEN ROCK, a documentary based on true life events. She also wrote a TV pilot and based on the ingenious T.C. Boyle’s novel, spun from the same faces and places, RIVEN ROCK. Owning the rights to the material for film as well, she and a writing partner completed a feature film screenplay in Feb 2025. In particular, Tina likes to write protagonists trying to break through social paradigms that impede self-realization. In GALILEO, a historical pilot for limited series, the stakes for embracing one’s own genius can mean torture and death. And in Tina’s fictional female driven spec feature, DANCING THE RED SHOES, a housewife’s identity crises leads her to flee her domestic prison for life as a dancer. Both scripts have placed well in several contests. On another note, Tina's ensemble scripts GOLDEN and CRIME DOESN’T PAY demonstrate a quirky family dramedy style. Tina freelances as a video editor, but has had diverse jobs to supplement her income. Her experiences might provide fodder in a writing room someday: Ubering/ ramp agent for an airline/ figure modeling/teaching flamenco dance/ English teacher/selling plots at a cemetery/ low budget filmmaker (who has screened projects at many festivals).
