Biography

Alli is a mixed race Japanese writer from a John Hughes-like suburb of Chicago, IL. A sickly child Alli spent a lot of time out of school watching TV and writing stories which inspired her to get a degree in screenwriting at Columbia College Chicago. She loves to tell coming-of-age stories that tackle tougher topics with grace, humor, and heart. They’ve worked extensively in support and freelance writing roles most notably with Netflix, Lionsgate, Amazon Studios,  Moonbug Studios and AwesomenessTV. During the writer's strike, she did take a brief detour and became a zookeeper. Last year her script PAPER FLOWERS landed her a spot in the prolific CAPE New Writers Fellowship for 2024 and the Grand Prize in Drama Screenwriting in the Emerging Writers contest. She was also just named one of the top 25 screenwriters to watch in 2025 by the ISA Network. When not writing or pitching she can be found drinking boba tea and hanging out with her menagerie of 17 pets.
