My name is Wayne Phillips. I’m a multi-talented writer, director, and historian based out of Brooklyn, New York. I’m a recent graduate of Brooklyn College’s Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema and member of the Labyrinth Writing Program.
My body of work varies from fun, satirical sitcoms to action-packed, historical thrillers. These works have netted me a Humanitas David and Lynn Angell Comedy Award Fellowship (2021) and semifinalist births in such programs as: WeScreenplay Diverse Voices (2019), and The Scriptation Showcase (2021/2022). As of 2024, I have four projects that remain in the top 20% of all ranked projects on Coverfly’s Redlist and highly rated television pilots on The Black List.
When it comes to crafting stories, I pride myself on cleverness, boldness, and freshness. My characters are three-dimensional beings offering nuanced perspectives and enticing outlooks on life. My sense of humor intersects smoothly through audiences of all creeds, and backgrounds.
In my spare time, you can find me around New York City volunteering as a Big Brother, and moonlighting as an ice cream connoisseur.
