Biography

As a screenwriter, Zenas has placed prominently in a number of top tier screenwriting competitions. His feature screenplay, IDYLLWILD, was a Quarterfinalist at the PAGE Awards Screenplay Contest in 2015. The script is an expanded version of his short film and delves further into the coming-of-age story of the protagonist and he reconciles his teenage angst amongst the dysfunctionality of his family and his love affair.

Concurrently, Zenas’ short script, BRING ME A DREAM, was a Semifinalist at the PAGE Awards that same year. The sci-fi story follows a man who meets the Sandman and becomes addicted to his own dreams, the only place in which he can still see his late wife. BRING ME A DREAM was also a Quarterfinalist in the ScreenCraft Short Screenplay Contest.

Zenas’ next feature screenplay, A SIMPLE ACHE, is a tragic love story about two broken people whose involvement with one another inevitably ends in both their deaths. The screenplay would go onto be a Second Rounder at the 2017 Austin Film Festival, and a Top Ten Finalist at the 2018 New York Screenplay Competition.

He studied and received his MFA in Film from Columbia University in New York and currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
