Mila Media is on the search for frighteningly good horror screenplays that specialize in bold, scary stories which can be produced at micro-budget levels. We’re set to produce a slate of 12 original horror films over the next three years. We just completed principal photography on the first film in our slate, The Unborn.  Our mission is to create high-quality, dark-genre fare for worldwide distribution while providing under-represented filmmakers the support necessary to grow in the industry.  

As mentioned in variety (link: https://bit.ly/2Ml7rCI) we’re seeking contained scripts with minimal locations and cast that include dark supernatural elements. We’re looking for high concepts, strong hooks, with a focus on story, concept, character, and structure. For comparable concepts, think along the lines of The Conjuring, A Quiet Place, The Exorcist, Rosemary’s Baby, etc. We are not interested in overly gory scripts or slasher films. We’re considering only the horror genre, not 'elevated genre' or cross-genre, although horror comedies will be considered. As these are micro-budget films elements should rely on minimal VFX and SFX (though some of those elements are fine).

When submitting please include a strong fully formed logline and synopsis that gives us a good grasp of the core elements in your script. If selected, rates will be negotiated based on the film's budget. Writers must be open to allowing Mila to purchase the script outright.
