We are looking for 2-3 unique, completed feature-length scripts for the Young Adult/Teen audiences. Any and all original ideas considered but think an updated “Superbad,” Netflix’s “Sierra Burgess is a Loser,” “Love, Simon,” “Fault in Our Stars” or “Eighth Grade.” Comedy or Drama, or combination of both. If there is a family-centric or inspirational element to your project, great. We’re looking for heartfelt, true-to-life (not necessarily “true” stories), relatable content with an easy-to-grasp hook. In other words, we are not currently considering science fiction or high-fantasy (i.e. “Maze Runner”).
Additional consideration will be given to writers and projects with a pedigree of strong contest or fellowship performance, or if the writer has been produced in the past.
When submitting, please include a short synopsis (no more than a page) and thoroughly developed logline. Additional material will be requested later. Please do not only write a tag line or tiny TV Guide blurb. We want to know your concept and hook within the logline. We will narrow our selection from the synopsis and logline then request scripts. Please do not submit a script or reach out to us through the Creative Screenwriting site. You will immediately be disqualified.
Selected scripts will be considered for an option agreement with a payment based on the budget and payable upon production, plus the writer will receive a piece of the backend when sold.
No limitations on locations or cast size (though we are not looking for ensemble pieces). Keep in mind that budgets range upwards to $8,000,000 max.
We look forward to reading your submissions.
