The ISA is enthusiastically seeking non-animated, live-action kid's shows for a major ISA Verified Industry Pro. We want special, stand-out stuff, not just something that children could also watch but made specifically with kids in mind.
When we say “kids,” we mean either for ages 2-6 or young tweens 8-12. As always, we want great writing - something with a high concept/easily describable hook, but more importantly, characters that really pop with offbeat humor and universally relatable goals. Some of the types of shows can be summarized as follows:
Sitcom-style stuff like The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Cousins for Life, Raven’s Home or Drake & Josh.
Genre twist shows, like Wizards of Waverly Place, Lab Rats, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch or Gabby Duran & the Unsittables.
Edu-tainment like Bill Nye the Science Guy (or of course the iconic and untouchable Sesame Street)
We are specifically looking for diversity within the characters and the story. This doesn’t mean it needs to be specifically *about* diversity (though that is a plus) but it needs to focus on normalizing diversity for children. The best way to do that is to just show characters of all voices and colors and backgrounds on screen.
When submitting, please include your SCRIPT, a SYNOPSIS and most importantly, a thoroughly developed LOGLINE. We will narrow our selection from the synopsis and logline, so you’ll want to impress and grab us with those elements.
Union and non-union writers accepted. Scripts from anywhere in the world will be considered but must be in English language.
NOTE: An “ISA-verified producer” means it is a respected industry professional/company with means to fund projects that suit their mandate. They wish to remain private and have entrusted the ISA to vet and find content to send to them.
