An ISA-approved agent/prod co combination is seeking the next great binge-able show! This is a major opportunity to get a show sold. We’re looking for slick, professional material that is industry ready. Ideally, we want a fresh hook, or a look into a culture or corner of the world we’ve never seen before. The characters need to pop, either to attract A-list talent or to make a star of someone new. And it needs to be visually sumptuous, i.e. something that attracts directors and makes people “see” the world just from reading it. Budget is no object. We just want to see something undeniable.
Additionally, and importantly, we want something that pushes the envelope in terms of style or format. Traditional storytelling methods and delivery systems are crumbling. The way we consume our media has seen a fundamental paradigm shift over the last decade, restructuring the way we approach serialized storytelling formats.
In short: People are ready to watch something new, exciting and fresh, free from length or tone restrictions.
To that end, some samples from past shows:
Hour-long shows like Ozark, Succession, Fargo.
Half-hour shows like Normal People and Homecoming.
Format-busting shows in terms of both length and tone: Atlanta, Fleabag, High Fidelity, Better Things, and Ramy
We are looking at all material, but very big bonus to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and female voices. We are wanting to amplify those voices and stories, and the people involved are seeking that as well.
When submitting, please include your SCRIPT, a SYNOPSIS and a thoroughly developed LOGLINE – please do not only write a tag line or tiny TV Guide blurb. We want to know your concept and hook straight away. We will narrow our selection using these elements, so you’ll want to put your best foot forward.
Union and non-union writers accepted. Scripts from anywhere in the world will be considered but must be in English language.
NOTE: An “ISA-verified producer” means it is a respected industry professional/company with means to fund projects that suit their mandate. They wish to remain private and have entrusted the ISA to vet and find content to send to them.
