An ISA Verified Industry Pro with major connections is seeking what they describe as Elevated Soap Opera for A-list talent. We’re primarily seeking television/limited series scripts, but will also consider features.

What is Elevated Soap Opera? Stuff like Big Little Lies, Little Fires Everywhere and the upcoming The Undoing. Female-fronted ensembles, a genre twist to set the plot in motion, and lots of melodrama. Sensationalistic material with exaggerated characters intended to appeal to the emotions.

A strong hook is important here. Again, think Big Little Lies, which tells the story of five women in Monterey, California who become embroiled in a controversy when one of their husbands is killed, possibly on purpose, possibly by them. There’s a strong and sensational engine to set the drama around, and multiple exaggerated and bold parts for women.

This production co is also really pushing for work by BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and female writers. Any fresh take or unique perspective will stand out to them.

When submitting, please include your SCRIPT, a SYNOPSIS and most importantly, a thoroughly developed LOGLINE. We want to know your concept and hook within the logline. We will narrow our selection from the synopsis and logline, so you’ll want to impress and grab us with those elements.

Union and non-union writers accepted. Scripts from anywhere in the world will be considered but must be in English language.
