The Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA) offers interships to students who are interested in screenwriting, film production and the entertainment industry in general.
MPCA was founded by Brad Krevoy in 1986 to focus on producing, acquiring, and distributing commercial motion picture and television productions. Since its inception, MPCA has produced, acquired, and distributed over 100 movies, including more than 20 major studio theatrical releases. MPCA is best known for its ability to produce commercial feature comedies, including DUMB AND DUMBER, the Farrelly Brothers’ first feature film starring Jim Carrey, which generated a gross worldwide box office of $250 million; KINGPIN starring Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid, and Bill Murray; BEVERLY HILLS NINJA starring Chris Farley; and Disney’s JUNGLE 2 JUNGLE starring Tim Allen.
MPCA recently produced the critically acclaimed drama TAKING CHANCE starring Kevin Bacon for HBO Films, which premiered on HBO to the highest ratings of any original film in the past five years and was nominated for 10 Emmys (winning one), PGA, WGA, DGA, ASC, ACE, and SAG awards, and two Golden Globes (Best Film and winning for Best Actor, Kevin Bacon). MPCA’s other recent productions include ARENA starring Kellan Lutz and Samuel L. Jackson; Disney’s BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA 2, which was the best-selling Direct to DVD release when released; MEETING EVIL starring Samuel L. Jackson and Luke Wilson; and CHRISTMAS AT CASTLEBURY HALL starring Sir Roger Moore.
MPCA’s upcoming slate of films includes WHAT WOULD KENNY DO?, starring Justin Bieber and Ashton Kutcher, on which MPCA has partnered with Will Smith and Sony Pictures; ROGUE SCHOLARS written and starring the Broken Lizard comedy troupe (Super Troopers, Beerfest), which also stars Kellan Lutz; and the English language remake of the 2009 Academy Award Winner for Best Foreign Language Film, DEPARTURES (from Japan). MPCA is also developing the English language remake of the Japanese box office sensation Yomigaeri with DreamWorks.
To date, MPCA’s motion picture and television projects have grossed more than $800 million worldwide in all media, earning the company its reputation as a leading provider of commercial motion picture product at all budget levels and an aggressive sales and marketing force with U.S. studios and international buyers.
