BIO: Writer/Director Mike Messier has won eight awards in film and television, including a Regional Associated Press Award (plus a Regional Emmy Award Nomination) as an Associate Producer on the documentary Haiti: Triumph, Struggle and the Sorrow of a People.
As an Actor, Messier has a principle role in the USA Network film Hard Luck, playing the son of a character played by Cybill Shepherd (The Last Picture Showg) and sharing a fight scene with Mario Van Peebles (New Jack City) and Wesley Snipes (Blade). Messier also shares a scene with Meryl Streep and Elisabeth Shue in the theatrical release Hope Springs.
Messier also is an experienced Acting Coach of C.O.R.E. A.C.T.I.N.G. and Tao Zen Acting, having worked with students from age nine to seventy-three.
Messier's work as Writer/Director includes the award winning shorts The Actor and The Nature of the Flame. Messier also hosts and produces The Messier Mantra, an interview program which can be found on vimeo.
Mike's film The Nature of the Flame recently won Best Cinematography in the My Love, Michelle film festival out of San Antonio, Texas. Mike wrote, directed and co-produced the short film which is a Zen study about the nature of dreams.
The Actor, a short film which Mike wrote, co-directed, and co-produced won Honorable Mention for Regional Film at the 2014 SENE Awards out of Providence, Rhode Island. The film stars David Graziano as a man who works out a lifetime of personal issues with The Coach, a character based on Messier himself, as played by Diane Porter.
