Services Offered

Script Overview

Includes 10-12 pages of notes. The notes include an analysis of structure, story, character, and theme, plus comment on what works, what doesn't work, and how to strengthen, tighten, and clarify the work.

Script Overview Plus Script Notes

Includes the above service, plus written notations on the script. Script Notes includes suggestions for scenes that could be cut or condensed, dialogue that could be clearer, possible character changes and where to insert story changes.

The Annotated Script

This service includes a 12-15 page conceptual report (the same as The Overview) and then Notes are added on the Screenplay Document (in FinalDraft or Word) which show how to apply the Report to the Rewrite. It has more detail and explanation than the margin notes and actually makes cuts on the script, suggests some dialog changes, plus gives concepts to think about Specific Scenes as the Writer is doing the rewrite.

Script Breakdown

Includes 20-30 pages of notes, including conceptual notes, a graphic analysis of the script, a page-by-page analysis.

Script Evaluation

Occasionally writers, producers, directors, and executives want a reading of a script, to determine whether it's worth pursuing for consultation. This service includes a reading of the script and a one page report on commerciality, general strengths and weaknesses, and a recommendation about whether to proceed to a consultation.

Production Consulting

Script Integration

Sometimes producers or writers need to integrate two different drafts, choosing the best of both but it's difficult to see the forest for the trees when integrating scripts. This service includes cutting and pasting and, if necessary, re-structuring the script to use the best of two different scripts.

Post-Production

Editing notes for rough cut.

Endorsements

"I found MAKING A GOOD SCRIPT GREAT so helpful, specifically your section on the Central Question and on creating scene sequences. I've used those concepts on all my films starting with APOLLO 13." - Ron Howard

"Linda's technique is a light to see by." - Ray Bradbury

"Linda is one of the most generous and insightful story and script consultants I have ever met. It takes a special talent to be able to address, critique and analize another person's writing without damaging the spirit and passion of the writers. Linda has that very special talent. Linda and I have consulted together on projects here in the States as well as overseas. And again I am impressed with her unique talents, insights and patience." - Mark Travis

(Mark Travis is a director and directing teacher and has given directing seminars and classes around the world.)

"I have worked with Linda on 4 screenplays now. I am always amazed and delighted at the new possibilities she opens up for me with her notes. I'm not exaggerating when I say she inspires me and drives me to produce the very best I am capable of. I'm dreading the day she hangs up her hat and retires from the biz." - David Gleeson

(David Gleeson, writer-director, WideEye Films, Dublin, Ireland. Credits include: Cowboys and Angels, The Front Line, etc.)

"If you want to take the bullet train to Hollywood, hire Linda Seger as a script consultant. I'd written five scripts using Linda's books as guides and then when I moved to LA Linda became my "go-to" analyst. I never sent a script to my agent or producers without Linda's detailed critiques first. Many times screenwriters are too close to their work to be objective, especially during the first few drafts. With Linda's help, I was able to elevate my work and began selling scripts. Now with several movies produced, I can highly recommend Linda Seger to anyone who is serious about selling their scripts to production companies or studios." - Sharon Cobb

(Sharon Y. Cobb's credits include Lighthouse Hill, On Hostile Ground and Just Write.)
