The Story Farm Coaching & Development with the ISA's Max Timm

SERVICE DESCRIPTION

Designed, presented, and created by the ISA's Director of Education, Max Timm. A 17-year industry veteran, award-winning writer, and development producer, Max specializes in intense craft education matched with professional screenplay development. Since 2016, over 30 Story Farm writers have found representation, optioned material, or won/placed highly in major contests. Some of the writers had never written a screenplay before, and many of the writers have been accepted on to the ISA'sDevelopment Slate.

We offer short or long-term support through "Anytime" packages where you purchase a number of calls to use in a 6 or 12-month time. Purchase your Anytime calls right here on the ISAwebsite.

Consider how much you would spend on one set of notes from any industry source, and not receive an hour-length phone call. It would run you at least $350 for those notes (most consultants charge a lot more). Max's support gives you multiple calls that you can pre-schedule, plus online coursework and ongoing education. Writers NEED to be educating themselves beyond just receiving notes. Now is your chance to do so with the leading education-centric development executive in the screenwriting industry.

Max now offers "The Story Farm Pro", where he will work with a writer one-on-one every single week for six months or 12 months, developing material and helping the writer develop her craft in order to bring the material to a place that is industry-ready. Please inquire for pricing and options by emailing Max if you would like to enlist in The Story Farm Pro. max@thestoryfarm.org

Anytime Call Packages (ISAConnect members SAVE $200 per package):

*Can be used for...full script evaluations, project brainstorming, outline review, logline creation, pitchbook/TV Bible development, industry advice, schedule management, and more on any of the calls regardless of the package. If you're looking to create a career as a screenwriter, these options are for you.

The 4-Pack:four calls to be used at any time within a 6-month period -$999

The 8-Pack:eight calls to be used at any time within a 12-month period -$1,499

Max Timm is the Director of Education with the International Screenwriters’ Association as well as the VP of Development and with Creative Screenwriter Productions. As the President of The Story Farm Development and Coaching service, with 17 years of experience in developing written material and writers’ careers, Max's focus has been on creating more success stories for Story Farm and ISA writers. So far 36 writers have received options and representation, or placed highly in major screenplay contests and Fellowships since 2016 because of Max’s assistance and support. Max has worked with everyone from A-list actors and writers, to creative people who have never written a screenplay before.

His personal coaching, consulting, and development service, The Story Farm, develops writers and their material much like a studio executive or literary manager would, walking a writer through the rewrite process one draft at a time. His online classes, titled The Craft Course in Screenwriting, offer writers an in-depth yet easy to understand approach to the professional full development process. In order to connect with as many aspiring writers as possible, he also helped create and launch the ISA’s popular Curious About Screenwriting interview-focused podcast, as well as his solo podcast, The Craft. Most recently, he and the co-head of the ISA Development Slate, Felicity Wren, launched a live Facebook broadcast series called Wine Wednesdays; an informal “script chat” weekly series where they discuss all elements of the entertainment industry while sipping on some tasty wine. Aside from focusing on education, Max has joined forces with his ISA cohorts Felicity Wren and Craig James to launch a production and development shingle called Creative Screenwriter where they develop and produce low to mid-range budgeted films written by the ISA’s top members.

A development consultant, producer, and screenwriting instructor, Max is a screenwriter and author himself. His debut novel, a young adult fantasy adventure titled The WishKeeper, about a teenage fairy with broken wings, won the young adult category of the 2015 Los Angeles Book Festival and released nationwide in the Summer of 2016 (the book is now being developed as an animated TV series). Max has also served as a part-time instructor at UCLA, and travels nationally speaking at various industry events such as the Sundance Film Festival, Nashville Writers Conference, Napa Valley Film Festival and the Spokane Writers Conference. Most recently Max released his debut book on screenwriting titled, (Not Just) Another Book on The Craft of Screenwriting.
