After attaining her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Creative Writing for Entertainment at Full Sail University, Kelly took Robert Frost's path less travelled by becoming a full time writer and artist.
She co-wrote and co-produced a short film, What If..., that won The Dan Eldon Activist Award and Best Documentary Award at the My Hero International Film Fest. It was a Finalist for this season's Sessions Lift-Off competition and has been nominated for a Humanitarian Award. Additionally, What If... has been awarded Best Documentary and Best message by Top Indie Film Awards, a Nominee for Best Music and Best Editing by Top Indie Film Awards, Semi-Finalist at Hollywood Screenings, an Official Selection at LA LIVE Film Fest, and an Impact DOCS Award of Merit for Documentary Short.
Her Horror short film script, Honeymoon, was a Finalist for Best Character at Script Summit 2019, Finalist at Filmmatic Horror Screenplay Awards, and a Quarterfinalist with Scriptapalooza.
Her Historical/Crime/Drama short film script, Butter Won't Melt, was a Quarterfinalist in the 2019 Page Awards, Finalist at the 2019 Nashville Film Festival, Quarterfinalist/Official Selection at HollyShorts Film Festival 2019, and Official Selection at Script Summit 2019.
Her Comedy TV pilot, Karma & Hercules VS. the Landlord, was a Quarterfinalist at the New York City International Screenplay Awards 2019 and an Official Selection at Script Summit 2019.
Her short story, Skin Deep, is a Quarterfinalist in Screencraft's Cinematic Short Story Contest.
She holds membership in the Women in Film and Television of Florida (WIFT-FL), Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Academy of American Poets (APA), and in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS).
