I am a 55-year-old Doctorate in Psychology. I also have a Master's in Social Work and Bachelor's in Journalism & Telecommunications.
In 1995, I completed a number of film theory courses at The New School (formerly known as: The New School For Social Research) and worked as a teleprompter operator for America's Talking, a cable based television station focusd on talk based programming.
As a kid, I was fascinated with television in much the same way today's youth are intrigued by social media. I am part of that "generation" of children who started watching TV as babies and never stopped. Some of my earliest television influences include: My So Called Life, Twin Peaks and 30 Something – shows that redefined how people tell stories on television.
When I set my mind to learning something new, I don't stop until I have mastered it. Since embarking on the screenwriting process, my interest has moved from fun hobby to serious endeavor.
I LOVE screenwriting and sometimes wonder if I missed my calling earlier in life. However, I quickly realize the 25-year-old me would not have the passion, experience, and confidence to do then what I am doing today.
My dream is to someday option a feature or television pilot. I would love to see one of my creative ideas come to fruition on the big or small screen.
For now, I am content learning from others and developing my screenwriting craft.
