Biography

Renn Tan speaks six languages, but not their mother tongue. Growing up LGBTQ+ in a predominantly Muslim country means, of course, they write about conditional love. Across genres, their stories feature characters whose identity or identities come into direct conflict with their environment.

Renn is a recent graduate of USC's Screenwriting MFA program, where they received the prestigious Annenberg Graduate Fellowship and the Jack Nicholson Writing Scholarship.
