Zack Van Eyck was named the Robert Rodriguez Indie Auteur of the Year at the 2025 Bare Bones International Film Festival in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The award is given each year in honor of the original "rebel without a crew," Robert Rodriguez, who was the inspiration for the creation of the Bare Bones Festival in 1999. Van Eyck wrote, directed and produced the low-budget feature THE HITCHHIKER EFFECT which also won Best Dramedy at the festival.
